In April 2007, Trump partnered with Bush Brothers Provision Company to sell premium branded steaks, exclusively through The Sharper Image -- an electronics retailer. The rationale for selling beef through an electronics shop was never fully explained. The line was discontinued within months. The Sharper Image filed for bankruptcy in 2008.
During a 2016 Republican primary debate, Trump displayed branded meat products he described as Trump Steaks to prove his businesses were succeeding. They were reported by journalists to be steaks from a different company with Trump-branded stickers applied. The original Trump Steak operation had ceased years earlier.
