Trump Shuttle (Airline)

Trump Shuttle (Airline)
Luxury air travel between New York, Boston, and Washington. For two years.
In 1988, Trump purchased the Northeast shuttle routes from the bankrupt Eastern Air Lines for $365 million, rebranding them as Trump Shuttle. He outfitted the planes with chrome, gold-coloured fixtures, maple wood veneer, and faux-marble bathroom floors -- at considerable additional expense -- to project luxury on a commuter shuttle route.
The airline never turned a profit. Trump defaulted on the loans in 1990. Creditors took control of the operation in 1992. The shuttle was eventually acquired by USAir. The gold fixtures did not survive.

""It's going to be the most luxurious shuttle in history.""
-- Trump, 1988
