Trump Home was a branded furniture and homeware collection launched in 2007, positioned to bring the Trump aesthetic -- gold, marble, excess -- into everyday domestic settings. The collection included furniture, bedding, mirrors, and various luxury home accessories, and was sold primarily through Macy's department stores.
The line had a functional retail presence for several years. Then, in June 2015, Trump launched his presidential campaign with a speech that included remarks about Mexican immigrants that drew immediate and widespread criticism. Macy's issued a statement in July 2015 announcing it was ending its entire relationship with the Trump brand. The Trump Home line, along with Trump-branded clothing, ties, and accessories sold at Macy's, was withdrawn from sale.
The furniture, once intended to project the Trump lifestyle, was gone from the shelves within weeks. Much of the inventory was reportedly sold at markdown.
