$1.10B
● United States
Estimated $1.1 billion in cash and cash equivalents as of the Forbes September 2025 assessment. Much of this liquidity originated from cryptocurrency sales following his return to the presidency, real estate transactions including the sale of the Washington D.C. hotel, and a San Francisco office building refinancing. From late August to early October 2025, Trump also purchased corporate and municipal bonds valued at between $82 million and $337 million, investing in tech companies, banks, and retailers — sectors that benefit from his administration's policies. The New York Times estimated at least $2.2 billion in total stocks, bonds, and cash as of July 2025. Two further OGE disclosures — a Periodic Transaction Report (278-T) filed May 8, 2026, and the full 2025 annual disclosure filed June 30, 2026 — revealed the scale of this trading activity: 3,642 individual securities transactions between January 6 and March 30, 2026 alone (roughly 63 per trading day), with cumulative disclosed value estimated between $220 million and $750 million. Large purchases included Nvidia, Apple, an S&P 500 index fund, Microsoft, Meta, Oracle, Broadcom, Bank of America and Goldman Sachs; large sales included Microsoft, Amazon and Meta. Every transaction on the May filing was flagged as reported more than 30 days late, triggering fee penalties. The New York Times reported the trading surge followed an August 2025 appellate ruling that vacated the roughly $500 million penalty in Trump's New York civil fraud case, freeing cash that had been held as bond collateral. The Trump Organization says outside, independent brokers control the accounts on a discretionary basis and that Trump has no role in individual trades — a characterization consistent with "unsolicited" and "discretion exercised" notations on the filings. Senator Elizabeth Warren has pointed to a January 6, 2026 Nvidia purchase made roughly a week before the administration eased export-control rules on Nvidia chip sales to China, and has called for an SEC inquiry; Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has dismissed the concern, citing the outside-manager arrangement.
