Donald Trump

US President (45th & 47th)  ·  American  ·  Active — denies close friendship post-investigation

Donald John Trump (born June 14, 1946) served as the 45th and 47th President of the United States. He and Jeffrey Epstein were social acquaintances in New York and Palm Beach circles from at least the late 1980s. Trump described Epstein in a 2002 New York magazine profile as a "terrific guy" who liked "beautiful women" many of whom were "on the younger side." Both men were neighbours -- Epstein purchased a Palm Beach mansion two miles north of Mar-a-Lago in 1990.

Epstein was a Mar-a-Lago member until approximately 2007, despite Trump's later claims to have expelled him "not too long" after Virginia Giuffre was recruited from the club in 2000. Flight logs from the 2024 Maxwell trial and subsequent DOJ document releases confirm Trump flew on Epstein's private jet multiple times between 1993 and 1996 -- a Department of Justice internal email from January 2020 noted: "the flight records we received yesterday reflect that Donald Trump traveled on Epstein's private jet many more times than we previously had reported or that we were aware of."

A 2003 birthday letter bearing Trump's signature, collected by Ghislaine Maxwell for a leather-bound album, featured a drawing of a naked woman. Trump has denied the letter's legitimacy. The DOJ releases also included a court filing referencing a 14-year-old girl brought to Mar-a-Lago by Epstein in 1994, who described Epstein introducing her to Trump.

Jack O'Donnell, former COO of Trump Plaza Casino, stated in a July 2025 CNN interview that Epstein was Trump's "best friend" during O'Donnell's four years at the casino, and that both men brought underage girls to the casino floor on one documented occasion. O'Donnell wrote about the incident (without naming Epstein) in his 1991 book Trumped!.

Trump pledged during the 2024 campaign to release the Epstein files. Upon returning to office, his administration initially resisted. In June 2025, Elon Musk publicly claimed on X that the reason for non-release was that Trump's name appeared in the documents -- the DOJ denied this. Congress passed the Epstein Files Transparency Act in November 2025 with near-unanimous bipartisan support, compelling DOJ release. Trump signed the bill after initially opposing it.

The subsequent DOJ document releases confirmed Trump's name appeared extensively in the materials but the administration stated that specific allegations against Trump were "unfounded and false." No criminal charges have been brought against Trump in connection with Epstein's trafficking network. Virginia Giuffre has not named Trump as someone she was trafficked to.
