Tony Blair
British politician / Former Prime Minister · British · Single documented meeting confirmed / No criminal allegations
Sir Anthony Charles Lynton Blair (born May 6, 1953) served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1997 to 2007, one of the longest-serving Labour prime ministers in British history. He led the country through the 9/11 attacks, the invasion of Afghanistan, and controversially supported the 2003 invasion of Iraq alongside US President George W. Bush. He left office in 2007 and subsequently established the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change.
Documents released from the UK National Archives in 2025 confirmed that Blair met with Jeffrey Epstein at 10 Downing Street on May 14, 2002, for a meeting lasting less than thirty minutes. The meeting was arranged by Peter Mandelson, who lobbied for it to occur. A briefing memo written by senior civil servant Matthew Rycroft described Epstein as "a financial adviser to the super-rich" with connections to Bill Clinton, Peter Mandelson, and the Duke of York. Internal notes on Mandelson's email lobbying for the meeting show some scepticism from Blair's staff about whether to proceed.
Blair's office has stated that no further contact with Epstein occurred after the single 2002 meeting and that Blair was unaware of Epstein's criminal activities. No criminal allegations have been made against Blair in connection with Epstein's network. His inclusion in this database reflects the single confirmed meeting at the highest level of British government, arranged by a figure -- Mandelson -- now facing criminal proceedings.
