Peter Thiel
Technology investor / PayPal co-founder · American · Named in released emails / No criminal allegations
Peter Andreas Thiel (born October 11, 1967) is a German-American technology investor, entrepreneur, and political figure. He co-founded PayPal, was the first outside investor in Facebook, and founded Palantir Technologies and Founders Fund. He has been one of the most prominent technology-sector supporters of Donald Trump, donating to Trump's campaigns and speaking at the 2016 Republican National Convention.
Thiel's name appeared in the November 2025 DOJ document releases as part of the Epstein email correspondence. Emails released by the Justice Department included conversations between Epstein and others in which Thiel was referenced, and emails in which Epstein appeared to drop Thiel's name as part of his regular practice of name-dropping well-connected individuals. The precise nature of any relationship between Thiel and Epstein has not been definitively established from the released documents.
No criminal allegations have been made against Thiel in connection with Epstein's activities. His inclusion in this database reflects his appearance in the released DOJ email correspondence at evidence tier 3, consistent with the court's standard notation that being named in released documents does not constitute an accusation of wrongdoing.
